2026 FRASER VALLEY MUSIC AWARD NOMINEE
The FVM awards, now in their eleventh year, are an initiative of CIVL Radio, the University of the Fraser Valley’s campus and community radio station, and were first hosted in July 2016 after a year-long grant project funded by the Community Radio Fund of Canada.
Starting in 2020, as an extension of the station’s commitment to the region’s musicians, and that group’s livelihood having been particularly devastated by the effects of COVID-19, the station has put up $10,170 in prizing to be split between the years’ winners. #FVMA26
Artists who are nominated for a 2026 FVMA are automatically eligible for the Dakota Leslie Memorial Fan Vote, where the more votes you get, the more cash you win! To vote today, click HERE
“"Carly brings enthusiasm, passion, and authenticity to every song she writes. Her ability to use unique melodies, poetic lyrics, and vocal stylings is unparalleled in her genre across Canada."” - ANNIKA, Canadian Artist
Carly Reirson’s commitment to vulnerability in her music, paired with her old soul, has set out to usher in a new wave of contemporary folk to the Canadian music scene. Known for her emotive vocals and introspective lyrics, this Alberta-born, Vancouver-based songwriter delves into the complexities of grief, healing, and love with honesty and depth.
Her latest album, Diary of a Beating Heart—produced by Juno Award-winner Murray Pulver— invites listeners into moments of stillness, courage, and connection. Onstage, she creates an intimate, yet powerful experience; painting emotional landscapes with her soulful tones, raw lyricism and her tender, yet powerful voice.
